Sundae Scoop

Client
Self-directed

Objective
The objective was to find a local business and design and prototype a functional, interactive website, social media posts, and banner ads. The use of relevant research and ideation methods as well as User Interface and User Experience fundamentals and principles should be evident.

Concept and Solution
The Sundae Scoop is a Black and veteran-owned ice cream shop in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Established in 2018, Philip and Sibs Harrell call their business the “community creamery.” An area of opportunity for the client is to push the sense of community. The website redesign focuses on not only the product, but the people that support the business and live in the community. This is reflected in the use of photography, customer reviews, volunteer opportunities, and merchandise to help the consumers feel closers to the brand and more unified with each other.

Result
This website redesign was the recipient of a silver 2023 local American Advertising Award.
