Objective
The objective was to find a local business and design a brand identity campaign. A logo, stationery system, and 2 additional pieces were required for this project. I chose to create a website and menu for the client to increase consumer clarity and sales.

Concept and Solution
Cilantro Bangladeshi Bistro was established in Norfolk, Virginia in 2013. They are a small, family-owned and operated restaurant that specializes in bringing a taste of homestyle and halal Bangladeshi cuisine to Hampton Roads. The client’s online presence is not in one designated space. Consumers have to visit social media sites and webpages to piece information together, or visit the establishment without knowing if it will be worth the trip. This creates confusion and inconvenience for the consumer who needs to know the location, hours of operation, menu items, etc. Consequently, a website and menu would be beneficial.

Cilantro Bangladeshi Bistro’s unique qualities are refined, intimate, fresh, earthy, and calm. A “bistro” is a small, modest, Parisian restaurant which suggests room for a more refined approach to the brand. The small, hole-in-the-wall’s atmosphere is intimate and cozy, lending itself to a more subdued color palette. The emphasis on “cilantro” suggests that freshness, earthiness, and quality ingredients are a priority. The message is that food helps retain cultural identity. This concept is reflected in the illustrative elements, patterns, and colors inspired by Bangladeshi textiles and cuisine.
